A new, exciting youth-centered spelling bee is buzzing its way to South Jersey. Buzzword Battle: A Kids Spelling Bee, a lively and inclusive competition for children ages 10–13, will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Riverwinds in West Deptford, NJ.

Designed as a “For Kids, By Kids” experience, Buzzword Battle celebrates literacy, confidence, and public speaking in a welcoming, high-energy environment. Participants will compete for a $250 grand prize, while families and community members cheer them on in a supportive atmosphere that values learning over pressure.

 

“Buzzword Battle is about more than spelling,” says the event’s organizers. “It’s about helping kids feel confident using their voices, celebrating intelligence, and creating positive, memorable experiences around education.”

 

The event is open to children across the region and will feature age-appropriate word divisions, engaging hosts, and community sponsorship support. All participants will be recognized for their effort and courage.
